The New Sensations from Sweden...

Sweden! Has there ever been a country more famous for its contributions in pop? It's the home of ABBA, one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music (and I'm sure I don't need to tell you that). I mean come on, they're still remembered 40 years onwards.

Even though I don't often talk about pop on this blog, it doesn't mean I don't like it. I LOVE pop, just...good pop. I'm just allergic to meaningless repetitive songs that people forget about in a month's time. This however I do like:

Just listen to the drums! Here's their website if you happen to like them as much as me :) http://www.thosedancingdays.com
They're called Those Dancing Days, named after the Led Zeppelin song 'Dancing Days'. Well, this song definitely makes me want to dance...although my version of dancing looks like a constipated chicken frustratedly flapping her wings.
Anyway..what do you think of them?

  1. Wow! Impressive. I'd never heard of this lot but I must check them out. I have to say that I do tend to like a lot of Scandinavian bands (Aha, Cardigans etc) They seem to have a very English outlook and temperament.

    Good spot!

  2. Thanks music obsessive! I honestly don't know what they're feeding them in Scandinavia...
I admit, I am a fan of Aha....you'll find me singing 'Take on Me' whilst doing the washing up-and feeling the glass crack in my hand as I attempt to reach the high notes (eek...let's just say people don't like me doing the washing up so much)
Yeah, I know, they do have a very English outlook. Maybe it's on purpose, they're fans of Led Zeppelin, maybe they're fans of British music and culture in general, it would make sense but who am I to judge?
By the way, if you like the single 'Fuckarias' (I'm not so sure what the song title means...I am one confused girl right now) it's available free on their website.
The fact that you're impressed is a compliment in itself!

  3. Love the drums!! Most of the Swedish bands I know are on the heavy side (Evergrey and Pain of Salvation), but this was a fun song.

  4. Thanks for the comment :D I know right? The drums are amazing in the song. It gives it such a happy feeling, I can't listen to this song without tapping my feet. To be honest, I don't know that much about Swedish music, I just know a handful of bands. This band just caught my eye because of a blog I was looking at
